The Legacy of the Moon 2008.02.05 Silanael It was a quiet evening at Silvermoon. The once so great elven city was prepairing for the night, guards changing duties and a handful of citizens managing their affairs at the Bazaar. Not much aside the sound of the fountain and some rumble of the moving arcane guardians could be heard. Those who walked past the fountain could spot a young Sin'dorei sitting in front of it, gazing into the water with a somewhat dreamy look on her face. Judging from her clothing, it was obvious that she was a practicioner of magic - perhaps holy magic, as her long white robe contained no signs of demonic runes, nor patterns typical to a mage. Her blonde, shoulder-lenght hair was held in shape by a blue headband decorated with a teal gem of some kind. Looking at her, one could get the impression of a fragile and gentle person, with an aura of spiritual determination radiating from her. Silanael sighed slightly and stared at the water forming waves and bubbles as it fell into the pool from the statue. It had been a long day, a day that raised many questions in her once so trouble-free head... It was not long ago since she left the safety of Sunstrider Isle, yet it felt like eternity. So much had happened since she stepped into the wildness, determined to make the world a better place. Her desire to do so was still ever as strong, yet saying that actually seeing the darkness of the world of she had only heard tales about, wouldn't change anything, would be a statement quite far from the truth. The priestess closed her eyes and said a silent prayer, as the group of humans devoted to light came to her mind. The Scarlet Crusade, a noble cause that went so wrong.. Stopping them was a task that was given to her order, the Frozen Path. Such a task was not a pleasant one in any way, yet she knew it had to be done. Her thoughts wandered even deeper into the day that they assaulted their Monastery... A small teardrop appeared in the corner of her eye as a voice yelling "Die, betrayers of the light!" echoed in her mind. How could the human say such a thing? She had devoted her entire life to healing the others, soothing their pain and taking away their suffering.. The humans were the betrayers themselves, merely using her kind in their meaningless wars... Another image of a scarlet crusader flashed in her mind, this time of a defeated leader of theirs laying on the cold stone floor. She was kneeling next to him, listening to his last words... "F..finally.. it is.. over..." "I'm so sorry.. We.. we had to.. we couldn't let you do these horrible things.." "I.. know.. Please.. don't... repeat.. the mistakes.. of.. ours..." "I won't.. You can rest now, I will make sure that the light will prevail.. I promise..." A distant shriek interrupted her thoughts, one that she suddenly regognized to have originated from a hawkstrider that had arrived into the Bazaar, carrying a handsome Sin'dorei. The rogue was familiar to her, having saved her life quite a few times. She looked at the blue sky that was full of stars by now, her expression having changed slightly. One could see a small smile on her face, as well as a sparkle of hope in her eys. She was determined to grow strong enough to protect everyone from the darkness that was all around us. Her path would eventually take her into the colds of Northrend, where the source of the greatest corruption resides - the lich king Arthas. It would be a hard path, but she wouldn't be walking it alone. She couldn't help but smile happily, as she thought about her companions that she had come to care about deeply. A warm-hearted tauren, and a seemingly wicked orc, that had some good in her, she was sure. They had also devoted their lives to defeating Arthas, and there were more to come. She felt safe with them, not having to face the evil alone. Never alone.
